He left the island in 1958 to attend Harpur College of the State University of New York (SUNY) on a tuition waiver where he studied for a Bachelor's degree with a Major in Biology. Glyne Murray has been a civil servant, journalist, public relations manager, personal assistant, senator, cabinet minister and diplomat.
